It is possible to reach Thailand by train, but the process can prove expensive and takes from four to six weeks to complete. The basic route is from London to Moscow, Moscow to Beijing, Beijing to Hanoi, Hanoi to Saigon, Saigon to Phnom Penh by bus, Phnom Pen to Battambang by bus or train then finally a train to Bangkok.
